Worms can cause health issues to your pets if not treated. Regular worming is an essential part of preventative medicine which ensures your pet is safe from disease. Not only do intestinal worms cause problems with your furry friends, but some can also be zoonotic and transfer to humans. Regular worming helps to protect not only your pets, but your family too.
Worms can be contracted from a variety of sources such as contaminated water, soil and contact with other infected animals. Puppies are particularly susceptible, and should be de-wormed every two weeks until they are 12 weeks old. After this, they’ll need worming every three months, unless they are at a higher risk and may require more frequent worming.
There are multiple types of intestinal worms and multiple different treatment products. So, if you are unsure and need advice, just ask one of our friendly staff members about options for your pet’s to have a healthy, parasite-free life!
